staggering through misplaced words and A SINKING FEELING, I GOT CARRIED AWAY Moving out was hard work. Nicholas Gilbert sat down in the lobby of the Four Seasons, watching the removal men come in and out with boxes of his things. Nick had wanted to leave home ever since he turned eighteen but for the past two years his work schedule had been packed and he just hadn’t had the time to find himself a place. But a few months ago he had gotten someone to check out places for him and they came up with British Columbia. Nick had swung by to check the place out and had been living in the Four Seasons until the apartment he wanted opened up. And he was just about to move in to said apartment. He’d stayed in the biggest most expensive suite in the hotel so that he could house as much of his stuff as possible there but some of his things were being delivered from storage as well.
If Nick could afford people to do all of his moving for him, why should he bother to help? He’d packed some of his stuff before getting bored and employing someone to do that as well. But most people got delivery men when they moved house therefore he was perfectly entitled to sit in the lobby and drink his iced tea and keep an eye on the proceedings. If he tried to help, he’d more than likely injure himself and when he hoped to get a part in an action movie in the not too distant future, he didn’t need to be pulling any of his back muscles days before the big audition. Most of the stuff the removal men were bringing down was clothes, video games and DVDs. Nick was realising that he had a heck of a lot of stuff. He jumped up as he witnessed one of the guys being a little too heavy-handed with a box that held a signed baseball bat in it amongst other easily damageable things and he rushed over to tell him off. ”Hey, be careful with that it’s delicate. I’d like everything to stay in one piece.” The guy frowned but got a better hold on the box and placed it carefully into the van.
He couldn’t stay outside for too long though because otherwise he’d be hounded by fans or paparazzi and to be honest, he wasn’t really in the mood. He trudged back inside with a sigh, went to take another sip from his tea and realised it was empty. ”Time for a refill.” He muttered to himself and walked across to the bar. Really, he would’ve liked something a little stronger. The downside to being famous was that everybody knew your damn age. Five more months he had to wait. The other bad thing about being well known was that everyone knew where you would be all of the time but the good thing about staying at the Four Seasons was that the other inhabitants were used to seeing celebrities around so they didn’t hassle you. Nick got himself another iced tea and went and sat at a table. He’d drive himself crazy watching the removal men. He needed some time alone, away from people because moving was definitely stressing him out. Post by ZARYN KATE OLIVER on Mar 15, 2011 18:25:44 GMT -8
As Zaryn Kate Oliver stared up at the Four Seasons hotel before her, that wasn't what she was seeing; no, far from that. She wished it were, because that would be a hell of a lot nicer than the images playing on the insides of her eyelids. Nicholas Gilbert sitting in that chair she'd sat in before, right next to Ellen DeGeneres, and a big, blown-up picture of herself coming up on the screens behind them; just a snapshot from one of her more recent music videos.
In her mind, she could hear the words coming out of Ellen's mouth: "So. You and Zaryn Oliver were spotted hanging out together a couple of weeks ago... Is there anything going on between you two?" And after that, all that she was seeing in her mind was the close-up she'd watched on the TV screen, Nicholas Gilbert's face as he replied, "Yeah, that was fun... In fact, we had so much fun that we're actually together now." Zaryn could remember exactly what she'd done here -- frozen, a glass of water halfway to her lips, blue eyes wide in shock as he had gone on, "I think she's going to write a song about me, you know, because I'm such an incredible boyfriend," and then laughed loudly. The audience had laughed, too, and Ellen had joined in, and right around that moment was when the tweets had started coming in, shouting at Zaryn in all capitals that OMIGOD IS IT TRUE?! and YOU GUYS ARE SO CUTE TOGETHER! and it had all made her feel almost sick.
Mainly because it wasn't true. So now here she was, a pretty girl with wavy blonde hair in place of her normal curls (mostly because of the rain), and boots that were nearly as far form her usual cowboy boots that they could get, standing in front of the Four Seasons hotel and wondering if he was inside. The internet -- one of the best sources for celebrity information, if you knew which sites were reliable and which ones weren't -- had told her that he was staying here, and she could see him in her mind's eye, lounging about in the most luxurious suite the hotel had to offer.
As Zee took a step towards the main entrance, the doors opened and a moving guy came out holding a big cardboard box; as she spotted the guy following him, Zaryn quickly sidestepped closer to the walls, and he didn't notice her. "Hey, be careful with that," Nicholas Gilbert snapped at the moving guy, who frowned. "It's delicate. I'd like everything to stay in one piece." As the moving guy carefully put the box into the moving van parked at the curb, the actor turned around and hurried back inside. Before she could tell herself to leave, Zaryn was catching the door handle with one hand and hauling the heavy door back open before it could close completely. She entered the hotel lobby just in time to see Nicholas disappearing through a doorway to the bar.
Following him, she watched as he ordered an iced tea and sat down at a table across the room. In fact, we had so much fun that we're actually together now. Ugh. Stupid, stupid agents and their stupid, stupid ideas! Yeah, Zaryn, it'll be good for publicity and stuff. You know, Nicholas Gilbert -- hot actor, right? Yes, and the fans will love it! Right. They had. But wasn't Zee supposed to love it, too? That was the part that wasn't happening.
She stalked over to his table and yanked the other chair out, sitting down across from him with one eyebrow already raised in preparation. "We're together now, huh? Where'd you get that from?" She didn't smile. Smiling was overrated.
