this is mr no-name. he also happens to be zaryn oliver’s biological father. this guy’s a pretty open character -- he should probably be in his forties, i would think. other than that, all i really have on him is that he was living in an apartment in nashville, tennessee around twenty years ago and he had navy blue sheets on his bed... he probably isn’t the nicest guy around, and he uses girls. he likes to go to bars, get drunk, hit on girls, and (on a good night for him) take one home. what i’d really like is for him to somehow end up in the same place as zaryn (which is vancouver) and then we can go from there.
PAST - -
around twenty years ago, mr no-name was living in an apartment in nashville, tennessee. what i’m thinking is that he was in a relationship with brielle oliver, who was nineteen at the time, and he was probably in his mid-twenties or something -- so now he would be in his mid-forties. i would say that this wasn’t the best relationship for brielle to be in at that time... she was probably totally in love with him, and he just, well, wasn’t. her parents and friends would have been constantly telling her that he wasn’t a good guy, and she would’ve been blinded by love and all, so she would be ignoring it. mr no-name probably wasn’t the most faithful guy around -- he was probably exercising his whole go to bars, get drunk, hit on girls, and take one home thing on nights when brielle wasn’t staying over or whatever. then, in june of 1992, mr no-name dumped brielle and went on with his life.
CURRENT - -
what this means is that everything zaryn has ever known about her father is a complete lie. brielle was about a month pregnant when mr no-name broke up wit her, and she never told him -- so he doesn’t know that zee even exists. basically, what brielle has told zaryn is that she’s the product of a one-night stand. she even threatened everyone she knows to keep them from telling zaryn the truth. all that zaryn knows -- or thinks she knows -- is that brielle met her father when she went out with her friends and got totally wasted, and woke up the next morning with a wicked hangover in some apartment she’d never seen before. at one point, brielle told zee that she ran away while the guy was in the shower, and zaryn has taken it to heart and decided that her mother is a coward (which she pretty much is). the only bit of truth zaryn knows about mr no-name is that he had navy blue sheets on his bed. now, as i said before, mr no-name has no idea that he has a daughter, or that she happens to be zaryn oliver. everything else is up to you, from if he’s gotten married to if he’s had kids to how he ended up here... i mean everything, as long as the little space in his life i’ve already mentioned fits.
FUTURE - -
basically, once he’s made, we can begin. which would mean him randomly running into zaryn somehow and not knowing who she was. in all honesty, i don’t want him to be nice to her or anything -- i’m thinking she might write mean about him, which is just all about a big bully, really. i can see mr no-name telling her that she can’t sing, that she doesn't deserve the record deal she got, that she shouldn't be famous because she sucks, blah blah blah. and then, at some point, he’ll have to end up looking her up on wikipedia or something and discover that brielle is her mother, and do the math and realize that brielle must have gotten pregnant when she was with him, and then he’ll know. and then there will be that awkward time when mr no-name knows that zee’s his daughter, and she doesn’t know anything. he doesn’t even have to necessarily feel guilty about being an ass to her, if you don’t want him to. eventually, he’ll have to tell her, and she’ll probably hate him. but it’ll be fun.
